About Us

The North Cotswold Tri and Run club was established in June 2016 for people of all ages and abilities who would like to train and compete in either triathlon, duathlon, running & cycling events or to simply enjoy keeping fit and enjoy the social side of being part of a very friendly group of people in an all-inclusive atmosphere.
We are affiliated to England Athletics & British Triathlon.
We also arrange regular group activities in Running, Cycling & Swimming and can also offer coaching & competitive opportunities for anyone from beginner level through to elite level

Run Training
Running is a main focus of the club. A coached interval session is run ever Tuesday led by Level 2 Tri and athletics Coach and international distance runner Dennis Walmsley.
A session is also run on Thursday by a rotation of coaches and leaders. This session varies between more social runs and less extended effort sessions.
Both Tuesday and Thursday nights start 7pm from The Runner Bean Gym, Upper Rissington.
Tuesday's effort session consists approximately of a 2 mile warm up, then repetitions and then a 2 mile cool down.
The session is varied but a few examples of repetitions are;
- 6x1 min, 3x2 min, 6x1 min with equal or shortened recovery.
- 4x1k Reps with 2 min recovery
- 3,4,5,4,3 pyramid session
- Hills
Total milage for an efforts session is approx 6-8 miles, but there are shorter and gentler options too:
